Before your team can start selling, you need to add your store's information. If you have multiple locations, you'll repeat this process for each one.
Store Details
Navigate to Settings → Stores and click 'Add Store.' You'll enter your store name, address, phone number, and timezone. This information appears on invoices and customer communications.
Tax Configuration
Set up your sales tax rates under Settings → Tax. RetailGenie supports different tax rates by product category — for example, mattresses might be taxed differently than accessories in some states, and appliance installation services may have separate tax rules. You can also configure tax-exempt customer flags.
Operating Hours
Set your store hours for each day of the week. This affects delivery scheduling windows and helps the system calculate staffing recommendations.
If you have seasonal hours (extended holiday hours, summer hours, etc.), you can set up schedule overrides under Settings → Hours → Special Schedules.
